Second Year: School of Practical Ministry

Practical Application of the Word

Where Year 1 sets your foundation in the Word, Year 2 builds upon it with courses aimed at teaching you to share what you have learned with the world! The emphasis is on learning by doing.

Second Year classes

The Year 2 courses further progress your training where, in addition to regular classes, students also engage in Inter-Action Groups (IAGs) – small workshops designed to help you fine tune and practice skills such as public speaking, preparing teachings and officiating weddings and funerals.

Missions

All second-year students are required to go on a CBC-planned mission trip in order to graduate second year. We believe that mission trips are a valuable part of ministry training. Students learn how to function as a team in unfamiliar surroundings, as well as how to share the Gospel with confidence, and in some cases, how to communicate through an interpreter. These are life-changing trips!

Even if a person never plans to go on the mission field, it gives them a world vision and an understanding of how to help those who are called into missions. CBC mission trips are scheduled throughout the school year and are typically between 7-10 days in length.

This is a tremendous time of ministry as the students have many opportunities to minister through teaching, evangelism, prayer, and drama to both adults and children of different nations. Locations change from year to year based upon hosts and scheduling restrictions.

Certificate

Upon completion of the second-year program, students receive a Certificate of Completion in Practical Ministry and are eligible to apply for the Third Year at any Charis Bible College location.

Year 2 Courses include:

*Curriculum subject to change
